This project is a work in progress. What you see posted here so far has taken over two years to create. The layout scale is 1:87 (HO) and is taken directly from actual location scenes from the middle of New Mexico. This double decked layout measures 25’ X 36’ or 875 sq. ft. The mountains are made from chicken wire, foam board and plaster sheets. Real sand and dirt was used for added realism, all srub brushed, trees and bushes are hand made as well as all buildings and structures.

Christmas at the Fire Base
in Military
This is a very personal Diorama, for it depicts exactly what I witnessed in Vietnam 42 years ago. The date was: December 24, 1967 (Christmas Eve Night). The firebase was named: “LZ Pony”. The depiction was just before the Viet-Cong hit us from all sides of the wire. This Diorama is on permanent display in the AIRPOWER MUSEUM, located at Republic Airport, Farmingdale, N.Y.
